I have a question since a moderator is on this status, the ip mc.minetown.net:25565 wont let me connect to it is it 1.0?

I am a new player to minetown, and i would like to ask if there is anything extra i would need to know going into the server. and the server ip " mc.minetown.net:25565" it says "unknown host mc.minetown.net:25565." any suggestions on how to get it up and running? My minecraft account is "thelildrummabot"
